Witch It

Witch It is a multiplayer hide & seek game set in a vibrant, magical world. Hunters are tasked with seeking hidden witches that blend in with the environment – trust no furnishing, grocery, or utensil!

This page covers the tech art I have created since joining Barrel Roll Games.


Hourglass (2025)

An astronomy-themed hourglass with behaviour based on orientation and input.


Firefly (2025)

A firefly acting as a sub-object with absolute rotation seeming to float peacefully.


Abacus (2025)

The beads change their position depending on the rotation of the prop. As a bonus, it contains a secret referencing our then-unreleased second game Prop Sumo.


Dowsing Rod (2025)

It points in the x-direction and essentially acts like a compass.


Armillary Sphere (2024)

Consists of two rotating elements.


Oscillating Liquid (2024)

Oscillation between two colours and masking.


Jar Ingredients (2024)

The ingredients inside the jar are shifted based on the rotation of the prop.


Stove (2024)

The parent class of this prop affects the parameter “Active” in the material based on the input to toggle the emissive colour.


Spline-Driven Actor Movement (2024–2025)

I followed a tutorial to create spline-driven movement for the dragonfly frog. With help from Henning Thöle, I set up base classes and made it work for both skeletal and static meshes.


Scales (2024)

I tried to make the pans move as realistically as possible, without having to rely on using physics constraints which impair performance.


Fountain Water (2024)

The water disc is shifted downward along the prop’s z-vector, effectively disappearing into the mesh and thereby creating the illusion that the water drains when the prop it tilted.


Celestial Globe (2024)

Rotates the globe when the player presses the action key.


Gardener Action Figure (2024)

Rotates the key and the shear.


Distance Animals (2024)

Joyfully jumping, low-resolution animals that move according to their world position.


Frau Holle Pillow & Dragonfly Frog (2023–2024)

A shaking pillow with a niagara effect for the feathers. In addition to the flying animation, I also made an idle animation for the dragonfly frog.


Ice Cubes (2023)

Achieves translucency through a dithered opacity mask which is cost-efficient compared to real translicency. The edges are opaque, so not everything is dithered.


Giant Spider Web (2022)

Sways in the wind using a material function. The props have the same WPO settings to move in sync.


Bee Swarm (2022)

The swarm was created using a Niagara particle system and the bee movement is driven by the WPO.
